The novena's theme was? Grant us peace in our day?. For nine days, we were invited to live a pilgrimage in search of interior peace. An original, flamboyant decor adorned the Basilica's sanctuary. The music and prayers were inspired by Taizé, an ecumenical community in France. Fr. Mario Boies, C.Ss.R., preached the French novena. Fr. Alfred Bradley, a missionary Redemptorist from the New York region, preached the English Novena.

July 26, the Feast Day of Saint Anne. A celebration opened the feast on July 25 at 4:00 p.m. The solemn mass on July 26 was presided by Bishop Jean-Pierre Blais, Auxiliary Bishop of Quebec City. Thousands of pilgrims participated in this celebration that took place at 10:30 a.m. In the afternoon of the 26th, at 3:00 p.m., there was the Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica courtyard. On July 25 and 26, the candlelight procession, which followed the 7:30 p.m. mass, took place on the hillside.
