Tomb of Alfred Pampalon

Venerable Alfred Pampalon may be considered the patron saint of alcoholics and drug addicts, of all people who have become slaves to various narcotics.

Not that he personally had to tackle this evil, one of today's worst plagues, but because he had shown himself willing to protect and help people struggling against these sort of addictions.

For example, one day Alfred offered his life for the conversion of an alcoholic. He also persuaded one of his own brothers to stop drinking. Very soon after his death, Alfred was already being invoked by people wanting to be cured of their addiction to alcohol. (ALFRED PAMPALON, by Gérard Desrochers c.ss.r., p. 209)
