First Nations Sunday will be a re-enactment of the first pilgrimage organized by Marie Oendraka in 1671. Some will travel by canoe to pay a visit to Grandmother Saint Anne, and gather for the colourful celebration at the Shrine.

The Novena and the Feast of Saint Anne will be the highlight of the 350th anniversary. The Novena preachers will be Bishop Pierre Morissette, bishop of Baie Comeau, for the French Novena, and Fr. Michael Brehl, provincial superior of the Edmonton–Toronto Redemptorist Province, for the English Novena. On July 19, the Aides of Saint Anne will celebrate their 60th anniversary.

In association with the New France Festival, a walk to benefit the “Little Brothers of the Poor” is organized to pay homage to those who constructed the “Route de la Nouvelle–France”, one of the oldest roadways in Canada

In association with the 400th anniversary of Québec City, this Festival will be a joyous event, its theme being the encounter and discovery of the “Route de la Nouvelle–France”: meet with the inhabitants, farmers, housekeepers, artisans and artists, writers, storytellers, etc. Cultural, Religious and Farming activities will be offered, as well as many others.

This solemn Eucharistic celebration, concluding the 350th anniversary celebrations of the Shrine, will be presided over by His Eminence Marc Cardinal Ouellet, Archbishop of Québec City. He will recall, at the same time, the Votive Mass that has taken place every year since 1708 for the parishes of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and of Saint-Joachim.

Québec Pilgrimage 2000 was founded by Mr. Denis Leblanc in 1995. In 2008, the Road of Shrines, Montréal to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, will celebrate its 10th anniversary. On the occasion of this anniversary, we wish to gather a large number of those who have participated in this pilgrimage of the Road of Shrines.
